Oasis De La Campana Ecological Reserve Trails
Oasis de la Campana Ecological Reserve has more than 20 Km. of trails with various landscapes and different levels of difficulty. All of them are kept in good conditions and the most important ones have clear signals.

Ecotourism activities are done within the parks of the Reserve, outside the eco-residential area. You must go up by vehicle to visit the high area. It is advisable to complement the descriptions of the trails with the Ecotourism map.
 
Nivel Básico
Palmar Bajo and Nursery stroll
A soft stroll to places near the Entrance. It is for every kind of visitor. The guide will explain the most important facts about the Reserve and will show the different kinds of native trees that grow in the Nursery and the giant chess that is located between adult Palms where you can have a fun game.

Quebrada Las Lajas stroll
A short walk to cross a beautiful spring that flows on Laja stone and among Palms. You can relax sitting down under a “Quincho” (a nice wooden place to rest under a roof) and enjoying the view and sound of the water flowing. On the other side of the spring you will get to Oasis Golf Club, the only Natural Range Course in Chile. If you desire to walk a bit longer you can see the remains of 2 furnaces that were used in the past to produce charcoal for the production of Palm Honey. Near this spot is the beginning of La Leonera trail.

Nivel Medio
Quebrada Las Palmas trail
Located in the high part of the Reserve (700 meters above sea level), you can walk among Palms and gorges with a wide view of the valley and hills. After walking an hour you reach the limit with the National Park (La Canchita) and then the circuit goes back to Las Ruinas.

El Tranque trail
Located in the low area of the Reserve (350 meters above sea level), it is a low level trek. In the lagoon you will see many kinds of species, which are attracted by the water source. Once there you can walk round it and enjoy the amazing views of La Campana Mountain. It’s an ideal place for birdwatching and if you wish you could plant one Chilean Palm with the name of the group.

Las Lajas to Las Ruinas trail
It’s a link on foot between Las Lajas and Las Ruinas (the beginning of La Llasquilla trail), in the middle of it, it is the beginning of Quebrada Las Palmas trail. This roadway where you can walk peacefully has many views of the valley and Palms on its sides.

Nivel Medio/Alto
The Tower Trail
You start in Los Potros roadway, climbing a small hill until its top where a small tower that is used by the workers of the Reserve is located. In this place you have the best view of the Club House, Nursery and Lagoon (the low part of the Reserve) with La Campana Mountain on the horizon. Then you go down until Palmar Bajo.

La Leonera trail
A medium/high trek. It has 2 beginnings, both in Los Potros roadway (700 meters above sea level). After a nice ascent among high trees of native forest and some Chilean Palms you get to the top of the hill, where you can have an amazing view of the other side of the hill with the Andes mountain range and especially the Aconcagua Mountain (the highest in South America). Then you go down a bit until reaching La Leonera Mountain Refuge where you have the view of the Reserve, el Roble Mountain and La Campana Mountain. This refuge has some Palms nearby, it’s located at 1,100 meters above sea level.

La Llasquilla trail
A medium/high trek. It starts in Las Ruinas (850 meters above sea level) and it goes up among amazing gorges and native forest. Once you get a considerable height (where lower vegetation grows) you get to La Llasquilla mountain refuge, where you can observe the beautiful valley and mountains from the hill. It’s located at 1,300 meters above sea level.

Among Refuges trail
Going up to La Llasquilla after passing the water tank the trail is divided in two. If you take the left path you go up walking over beautiful Chilean Palms until reaching La Leonera trail
