More than 800 thousand Chilean Palms and 200 thousand Chilean native trees (21 different species) grow in this compound. All these plants are planted in the Reserve or sent to other parts inside the country or abroad.
Chilean native trees are well adapted to the Mediterranean weather, therefore they don’t need large amounts of water and they can survive after long periods of dry weather.
They don’t lose they leaves during the winter, so they are a good way to fight pollution throughout the year.
It is an attractive and interesting place for the visitors, where they will learn about its procedures and about the plants that grow within. It is extremely important a good behaviour to prevent all kind of accidents and damage to the flora.
An innovative system has been developed to reproduce the Chilean Palm (Jubaea Chilensis) in only a few months, an important step ahead considering that it takes normally a couple of years. Besides, all the time new researches are made to improve the system of reproducing and growing the different species, all of them with natural elements always respecting the environment and the ecology, without using toxic chemicals.
